What is the YouTube Partner Program and how to join from India

The YouTube Partner Program, or YPP, is how you unlock AdSense revenue on your channel. Without it, YouTube shows ads on your videos but you do not see a rupee from them.

To qualify in India you need 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months, or 500 subscribers and 3 million Shorts views in 90 days for the lower-tier access. Once you hit the threshold, you apply through YouTube Studio and Google reviews your channel, usually within a month.

After approval you connect an AdSense account with your PAN card and bank details. Revenue shows up in dollars but gets converted and deposited in rupees, with a minimum payout of around 8,000 rupees per payment cycle.

Indian CPM rates are lower than US rates, so do not expect the same per-view earnings you see American creators talk about. Finance, tech, and education channels in English tend to earn more per view than entertainment or comedy in Hindi because the advertisers targeting those categories have bigger budgets.
